Infineon Raceway is a great track that I really enjoy racing at. I remember having my 5th birthday
there, watching my dad race numerous times in the AFM series. I have actually been on the track
just a few times, and I enjoy every lap.

This past weekend at the 2010 AMA round at Infineon started well, doing good in practice, and
qualifying on pole for the second time. Going into the first race, I was confident I was the fastest
rider out there. I got the holeshot and put down some fast laps in the beginning of the race.
Danny made a pass on me, but his pace was slightly slower. Cardenas passed me up the inside
a lap later, so I sat behind them. About half way through the race, I took one to many downshifts
going into a turn and it threw me into a highside scenario. I saved it, but I ran off the track and
lost touch with the leaders. I got back on the track and had a hard race with Dane Westby all the
way to the flag. Finishing 3rd that day was my first podium of 2010. Definitely a good feeling
being on the podium again after a rough start to the season.

Sunday seemed promising as I jumped out to an early lead. I felt good until Danny put an
aggressive move on me for the lead, forcing cardenas and myself off the track. A red flag came
out a couple laps later, making me start the restart on the second row. I got a decent start and
rode around in 5th for a while. A few people put block passes on me and I got shuffled back. The
pace went down while we battled, watching the leaders leave us.
A few riders had problems in front of me and I found myself in 6th with a few laps to go.
I made a couple good passes on Cory West and Bobby Fong, and I went in pursuit of Westby.
Dane is a very strong rider on the brakes, and he edged me out for 3rd by a half a bike-length.

While unhappy because I JUST missed the podium, I did make up a lot of points in the series. I
am still 7th in the standings, after a rocky start, but much much closer than before. I am really
looking forward to the upcomming events, and very hungry for that elusive first AMA Pro victory.

Thanks to my Graves Yamaha team for all the support, as well as Shoei, Cortech leathers, TCX
boots, and my friends and family.
